Now, I've gained quite the reputation in York for being the go-to boiler man, and the reason is my attention to my customer's needs, so I always take your advice, take your needs and implement them into my business, and this has resulted in me getting this title. I got tagged in it a few times on Facebook. I thought I'd create a blog about it.
Now, why have I been given this title of York's go-to boiler man? Now, there's a series of things I've implemented within my business that I wanted to share with you. Itβs a number of things, but number one is appointment confirmation emails. So when you book an appointment, you get a confirmation email so you know that that time slot is booked for you. Now, I also do text appointment reminders, so you'll get a text appointment reminder before your appointment is due just to let you know that we are going to turn up, and just before the appointment, we also send you a text to let you know, we're on route so if you're in the middle of something you know that I'm five or ten minutes away. Incorporated into that is a map, so you can click on a link and follow me to the job on a map.

Quick quotations & premium brands
Another thing that I've implemented is faster proposals, so there's nothing worse than waiting for a quotation when an engineer's been, and you're sat in anticipation waiting to know costings, and it's something that you almost immediately want to know so we'll try and get that to you as quick as we can which is usually within a couple of hours but can take up to 24 dependent on the job. Another thing that I've implemented is only installing leading brand boilers, so we don't install anything that's not leading brand anymore. We tend to stick to Ideal or Worcester. Although we can fit Valliant, Baxi, etc., it must not be a budget-brand boiler. And that's just so that the after-sales is a much easier clean process. The more well-known brand boilers tend to have better aftercare.
Gas-safe registered
So when we're installing your boilers, we also register your boilers with gas-safe ideals and building regulations, which means that you don't have to worry about anything or all that's taken care of for you. We send you the paperwork that you need, and you'll also get a gas-safe letter through the post to let you know that a gas-safe registered engineer has completed it. I also treat your home like I would my own, so there's nothing worse than having a tradesman in your house who has little or zero respect for your property.
Protecting your home & payment methods
Everywhere we work has carpet protector on; we use a dust sheet, and we'll make sure that when we leave, it's left to a high standard. We've also implemented payments on-site, so we take payment as soon as the job's complete on-site via a card machine. You can pay by a check, you can pay cash, you can pay whichever way that you want to pay, you pretty much can. That's done almost immediately, which means you'll get your invoice immediately as soon as payment's been made, and it's emailed to you directly, so there's no messing about. As soon as the job's done, it's paid, it's done.
Boiler service - online bookings
I've also implemented online booking for boiler services with full access to my diary. That also means you can pick a time and day that suits you. So it means that you're not messing around, you know, we're not tooting and throwing. Can you do Wednesday? No, I can't do that. Sorry, can you do Thursday? There's none of that. You have immediate access to my diary, giving you complete control.
Video tips, how to's & advice
I've also implemented helpful how-to hints and tips videos on our installed products. So when you have a boiler installed, you're not just left to try and figure it out for yourself. I know at the end of a job, it's a quick handover process. Even though we take the time to explain, there's a lot of information to give you. So what I've done is created a series of videos that you can refer to, look back on, and, you know, if you need it and you can sort of control in your thermostat, for instance, there's a video on the thermostats that we install that you can have, and you can always refer to.
Email campaigns
I've also set up email mail campaigns for handy hints and tips on various aspects of plumbing, heating and multiple things. There are many, many, many more things I've implemented along the way along this journey of creating the boiler doctor. Now installing boilers, maintaining boilers and repairing boilers is what I do best. And I'm proud of what I've achieved.
