The real story
Steve apprenticed in plumbing and heating, then went out on his own — founding Acomb Plumbing & Heating in 2013. He built it up on word of mouth and repeat trade, one satisfied customer at a time. In 2020, the business rebranded to The Boiler Doctor — not a fresh start, but a name that finally matched what the business had actually become: boiler-first, heating-focused, same standards throughout.

Meet the team
Steve
Owner and lead engineer. Gas Safe registered (No. 570248). Still does the tools every day — not just running the business from an office.
Kyle
Engineer, with Steve for 5 years. Fully trained and gas-qualified. Regular customers ask for him by name.
Hayden
Runs the office. First point of contact by phone for most enquiries — website enquiries get routed straight through to Steve.
What we don't do
We no longer take on full bathroom installs or complete bathroom suites. If you're an existing customer with a dripping tap or a running toilet, give us a call — we'll usually sort it. New to us with a plumbing job? We might be able to help depending on what it is, but heating and boilers come first.
